About John Mallinger

John Charles Mallinger was born on September 25th, 1979 in Escondido, California. The youngest of four children, he graduated from Escondido High School and then went on to play on the men’s golf team for California State University, Long Beach. He soon turned pro after graduating college in 2002.

After turning pro in 2002, John joined the Nationwide Tour in 2005. He played some events on the Nationwide Tour in 2005 and received playing privileges for 2006, where he then earned his PGA TOUR card in 2007. In 2007, he was a runner-up for Rookie of the Year honors on the TOUR and had ended up with total earnings of $1.6 million that year. John then went on to have an immensely successful year in 2009, where he finished top 50 of the money list for The TOUR that year.

John travels to the Bahamas each year to take part in the Mark Knowles Charity Tennis Invitational. Playing in the Mark Knowles Charity Tennis Invitational, John helps out one of his good friends – Mark Knowles, as well as helps to raise funds for local children’s charities. The charities that benefits from this tournament include the Cancer Society, the Sassoon (Bahamas) Foundation for Pediatric Heart Care and the Special Olympics, just to name a few.
